     Larger Image           At Work

This painting is a comission by on the avenue gift shop and ceramic studio. Pictured at the tables is Jo Ann, the owner, and her two daughters. This painting raises an interesting art question. In the lower left corner of the window are two sunflowers.

Sunflowers Detail

The minute I painted them I realized that they made a good symbol of my upcoming wedding to Dorothy. The theme of the ceremony will be sunflowers. But are they really allegorical symbols if the reason that I painted them is only because they happen to be there?
