The light brown building in the middle is the Portland Buddhist Priory. It took two months to complete because of weather. I got Dorthy to sit on the bike for me. I had to put a rock under her front wheel to keep her from rolling into the street when her hands got tired of holding the brakes.
One day a frail elder Buddhist nun came out. Her curosity brought her see what I was painting. She asked how I dealt with the passage of time in the painting. I explained about how I am painting an entire month and compressing into a single moment. I said, "I figure as a Buddhist you should understand about time." (She laughed.)
